Twists & Transformations: Dickens' London Borough

This walk through the streets of Old Borough, follows the ‘Twists and Transformations’ of Dickens’s early childhood, revisiting early Victorian London South of the River. The walk starts by passing through the site of the Marshalsea Prison and takes us back up to the Thames near old London Bridge. Starts at 5pm – finish 6.45pm

Blake’s London: In Lambeth’s furnace.  
Meet Imperial War Museum @ 11 am finishes near Waterloo Station 1pm

This Blake inspired walk concentrates on the Artist's time living in Lambeth – the furnace of his creativity - spanning his most creative and productive period living and working at 13 Hercules Road. We will walk from Imperial War Museum, through Lambeth Palace Gardens and up to the river at Lambeth Bridge before turning towards Blake's home.

Meet at Grove Vale Library at 2pm 25-27 Grove Vale, East Dulwich, London, SE22 8EQ
Bus: P13, 40, 176, 185, 484 or train to East Dulwich

Starting from Grove Vale Library near to East Dulwich Train Station, this walk spans the transformation of the village around Goose Green, up Lordship Lane and into the former Country Estates. Exploring the manner in which the green parkland and country houses metamorphosed into housing for the people.
